Never heard of World Pharmacists Day? Here’s the skinny: every year on Sept. 25 the World Pharmacy Council recognizes the work of pharmacists around the globe.
In a statement, NCPA CEO and WPC President Douglas Hoey said, “Properly resourced and with their skills and scope of practice fully recognized, community pharmacists stand ready to meet even more of each country’s health needs than they do now.”
But, he notes, community pharmacies in several countries are struggling in the face of the effects of inflation, leading to reduced patient access to community pharmacies, as well as medicine shortages.
Join WPC in its push to secure the viability of community pharmacies and unlock their full potential for the benefit of patients and health systems globally. Read its full statement here.
