On this day in 1967, the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum hosted the first AFL-NFL World Championship Game; you might know the game better as Super Bowl I. It was a match-up between the top teams in the National Football League and the American Football League, the Green Bay Packers and Kansas City Chiefs, respectively. It wasn't close — the Packers beat K.C. 35-10, in front of over 60,000 fans. Around 50 million homes tuned into the game.
The game also featured several future Pro Football Hall of Famers, and a wacky halftime show where two men flew around in jetpacks over the field. You can see one of the guys float around the field here.
