NCPA submitted comments in support of Ohio H.B. 229 last week as it was heard, amended, and passed by the House General Government Committee. The bill establishes a regulatory framework for PBMs, including a licensing scheme through the Department of Insurance, and designates PBM fiduciary responsibility to plan sponsors. It also prohibits PBMs from reimbursing affiliated pharmacies more than others.
After its committee hearing, H.B. 229 was then passed by the House. It is now assigned to the Senate Financial Institutions, Insurance and Technology Committee.
