NCPA member Ira Katz, owner of Little Five Points Pharmacy in Atlanta, Ga., was interviewed Sunday on the TV channel NewsNation about the possible impacts of tariffs on independent community pharmacies and patients. He spoke about the lack of clarity on the size and scope of any tariffs on pharmaceuticals and the resulting effects on imported drugs, which are mostly manufactured abroad.
In addition to discussing possible outcomes for the tariffs, he expressed hope that the Trump administration would be able to lower prescription drug prices and noted the insufficient reimbursements to independent pharmacies from PBMs. You can watch the interview here.
