Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders (R) signed into law H.B. 1620, legislation addressing prompt payment issues from PBMs to pharmacies and pharmacists. Now titled Act 350, the law defines “clean claims” and establishes payment timelines of 7-14 days after receipt of an electronic claim and 30 days after receipt of a paper claim. Penalties include 12 percent interest per month for late payment. Congratulations to the Arkansas Pharmacists Association for this great victory that will help independent pharmacies with their claims processing.
