The Sharp Rise in the Price of Some Generic Drugs is Finally Slowing

There are a variety of reasons generic drug prices can climb, including consolidation in the supply chain as well as legal and regulatory reason. However, the FDA has the power to solve some of these problems by approving new generic drug applications. Since April 2015, it has substantially increased the number of generic drug applications by 50 percent of better. This is good news for consumers since more completion leads to lower prices at the drugstore.
