Lynn ScarletLynn Scarlett is Vice President of Research of the Reason Foundation, a nonprofit public policy think tank based in Santa Monica, California. She has written extensively on a variety of subjects, including recycling and solid waste management, air pollution policy and land use policy. She is currently focusing her research on solid waste management issues.The White House Office of Policy Development has used Ms. Scarlett’s policy work on recycling and solid waste management. She has spoken frequently on solid waste management issues, urban growth/no growth policy and environmental policy. She served as a member of an expert panel to review the solid waste management master plan for Lee County, Florida. Ms. Scarlett is a frequent contributor to the editorial pages of USA Today, and has written on environmental matters for the Wall Street Journal, the Los Angeles Times, the San Diego Union, the Orange County Register, and the Los Angeles Daily News. Ms. Scarlett has a B.A. and M.A. in Political Science from the University of California, Santa Barbara. She completed her Ph.D. exams in economics and political science at the University of California, Santa Barbara, and is now completing her dissertation.
