Nunn Discusses Threat in Age of Instability |
The Honorable Sam Nunn will discuss "The Nuclear Threat in a Post-Soviet
World" at the next National Center for Policy Analysis Hatton W. Sumners
Distinguished Lecture Series luncheon. Senator Nunn will draw on his 24 years of
experience in the U. S. Senate to discuss issues of importance to national security in our
increasingly unstable international community, including: nonproliferation, information
security and the global economy. WHO: WHAT: WHEN: WHERE: Wedgwood Room A former four-term Senator from Georgia, Nunn is considered one of the
nation's foremost experts on defense issues and foreign policy. During his career in the
Senate, he served as chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee, served on the
Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations and served on the Intelligence and Small
Business Committees. He helped create the Cooperative Threat Reduction Program,
which provides incentives for the former Soviet republics to dismantle and safely handle
