"Is School Choice Constitutional?" NCPA Sponsored Episode of DebatesDebates to Air Nationally This Week!

DALLAS (June 21, 2000) - The National Center for Policy Analysis announced today that a new episode of the nationally syndicated program DebatesDebates, a series of programs that are sponsored by the NCPA, will be made available to stations starting today for airing this weekend.
The episode: "Is School Choice Constitutional?" features an all-star cast debating an issue hotly contested by political and education leaders across the country. Leading the affirmative team is Clint Bolick, president of the Institute for Justice who has argued on behalf of many of the school choice programs before the courts. Bolick is joined by Jay Lefkowitz, a Washington attorney with Kirkland and Ohs, Ltd. and Nicole Garnett, a professor at the Notre Dame School of Law.
The opposition team is led by the Rev. Barry Lynn, director of Americans United for the Separation of Church and State and a leading opponent of school vouchers. Lynn is joined by Robert Kuttner, co-editor of American Prospect magazine and Marcy Hamilton, a professor at the Benjamin Cardoza School of Law.
