C-Span To Air NCPA Luncheon Featuring Ward Connerly

DALLAS (March 8, 2000) - Touching on the failures of race-based affirmative action programs and offering ideas as to how America can reach real equality in the 21st Century, Ward Connerly, founder and chairman of the American Civil Rights Institute, kicked off the National Center for Policy Analysis' 2000 Hatton W. Sumners Distinguished Lecture Series. This special event will air nationally on C-SPAN this coming Saturday, March 11.

Connerly gained national respect and notoriety from his epic battle against affirmative action programs in the admissions process at California universities, where he argued that "No American has any entitlement to special treatment owing to what their ancestors might have endured in our nation." After a historic victory in California, Connerly has traveled the country as an outspoken advocate for equal opportunity for everyone, regardless of race or sex.


The National Center for Policy Analysis is a public policy research institute founded in 1983 and internationally known for its studies on public policy issues. The NCPA is headquartered in Dallas, Texas, with an office in Washington, D.C.
