MEDIA ADVISORY: Reception to Discuss Dallas' Global Climate Change Conference |
Dallas — The National Center for Policy Analysis and Texas Citizens for a Sound Economy will host a reception Wednesday, October 29, 1997 to discuss the impact on Texas of a global climate change treaty. Those attending the reception will be updated on the latest climate treaty negotiations as well as given information about the treaty’s economic ramifications for working Texas families.
The reception comes on the eve of the Clinton Administration’s global climate change conference – the third in a series of Environmental Protection Agency events designed to promote the Administration’s stance on global warming.
During the first hour of the reception, Gail McDonald, president of the Global Climate Change Coalition, will be calling in with a live update from Bonn, Germany, where she is attending the U.N. sponsored global climate change conference. Experts speaking at the reception include Climatologist, Dr. David Legates; Peggy Venable, director of Texas Citizens for a Sound Economy; and H. Sterling Burnett, environmental expert for the National Center for Policy Analysis. Experts will be available for interviews during the reception.
