- Thomas W. Smith is the managing partner of Prescott Investors, a private investment firm he founded in 1973. Prior to founding Prescott, he was the managing partner of Whitcom Investment Company in New York and a partner for Reynolds and Company.
- Tom received his Masters Degree in Economics in 1956 from the University of California at Berkeley and his Bachelors Degree in 1950 from Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
- Tom has been a director for a number of companies. He currently serves on the board of directors for Catalina Marketing, a leading provider of in-store electronic marketing services.
- He currently serves as chairman of the board for St. Ann School in New York City.
- Tom was a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy.
