Greg Wilkinson, a lifelong Dallas resident, has been in the construction business since 1971. He received a degree in mechanical engineering from Southern Methodist University and completed graduate programs in business at Penn State University and Southern Methodist University. He has been a registered professional engineer in Texas since 1972.
Mr. Wilkinson has experience in construction estimating, design engineering, sales/marketing and overall business management. He spent eleven years with one of the largest construction/engineering firms in the world: Fluor-Daniel. He held the position of Division Manager Sales for several years and gained the distinction of creating a large volume of new business from scratch for a new division office of Fluor-Daniel. As a result of this sales success, he was appointed Division Manager-Operations of the Dallas Division in 1980. In 1982 at the age of 35, he was promoted to Vice President of Fluor-Daniel and became one of the youngest vice presidents ever at the company.
In mid-1985, he became a co-majority shareholder and President of Hill & Wilkinson, Ltd., a Dallas-based general contractor. At the time annual revenue was approximately $10,000,000. His skills in marketing and overall management have been instrumental in the growth of the company. Today, the company's annual revenue in general building construction is $300,000,000.
Mr. Wilkinson and his company won Entrepreneur of The Year recognition in 1991 for the Dallas-Fort Worth area. This award is given by Ernst & Young, Inc. magazine, and Merrill Lynch.
