  • NCPA Senior Fellow Bruce Bartlett said that the CBS Book Notes gaffe about President Bush’s National Guard service is a paradigm shift showing that Internet media are now more important than television networks. His remarks also appeared in National Review.
  • NCPA President John C. Goodman debated Kenneth Thorpe, author of Sen. John Kerry’s health plan, on the July 30 edition of CNBC’s Kudlow & Cramer. Goodman’s remarks also appeared on the Greg Corombos show on Radio America.
  • Bartlett told CNNfn's TheFlip Side on September 3 that the previous week's jobless numbers speak well of the Bush Administration's efforts on the economy.
  • NCPA Senior Fellow Devon Herrick told CNNfn's The Biz on September 2 that President Bush's health plan would allow more Americans access to private health coverage.
  • NCPA Senior Fellow H. Sterling Burnett told WFAA-TV ( Dallas-Ft. Worth) and the Texas Cable Network that it's good the assault weapons ban was allowed to lapse in Congress.
  • NCPA research on the Kerry-Edwards health plan appeared on KCNC-TV ( Denver) on August 26.
  • NCPA Senior Vice President Jeanette Goodman told a Midland, TX television station on September 28 that candidates need to focus on women's economic issues.
  • Burnett discussed air pollution and asthma on the McCuistion syndicated television program (PBS-TV) on September 26.
  • Herrick told CNNfn's The Flip Side on August 20 that the real value of Medicare discount cards isn't the in-store discounts but access to exclusive use of discount pricing online.
  • Burnett told Your World with Neil Cavuto on the Fox News Channel that any worries about the strategic petroleum reserve can be solved by prudently expanding domestic exploration. His remarks also appeared on KTBC-TV ( Austin, TX), WFLD-TV ( Chicago), KRIV-TV ( Houston), WAGA-TV ( Atlanta), WITI-TV ( Milwaukee), WAWS-TV ( Jacksonville) and KHON-TV ( Honolulu).
  • NCPA research showing that Sen. John Kerry's health plan would be costly appeared on KVBC-TV ( Las Vegas) on August 12.
  • Bartlett told CNNfn and CNN Money on July 30 that taxes will rise next year regardless of which candidate is elected in November. His remarks also appeared in the Washington Times.
  • Bartlett told USA Tonight ( WUSA-TV, Washington, D.C.) that Vice President Cheney will probably remain on the Republican ticket. His remarks also appeared in The New York Times and The New Republic.
  • Goodman’s comments about “Putting Health Savings Accounts into Practice,” at the American Enterprise Institute appeared on C-Span on July 16.
  • Herrick told WFAA-TV (Dallas-Ft. Worth) on July 16 that allowing obesity to be covered by Medicare may become an expensive proposition for taxpayers.
  • Polyconomics President Jude Wanninski cited NCPA research showing that entitlement debt is more than $72 trillion and growing on the July 15 edition of CNN’s TheFlip Side.
  • Goodman told Fox News Channel’s Your World with Neil Cavuto on July 1 that HSAs are rapidly becoming popular with both employers and employees.
