  • NCPA Senior Fellow Bruce Bartlett was a featured speaker at a June 25 Capitol Hill briefing on “Taxes, Deficits and the Size of Government: What Really Matters?” sponsored by the Heritage Foundation, the National Taxpayers Union and Citizens Against Government Waste.
  • Bartlett addressed the Brookings Institution’s forum on “The 2004 Campaign: An Assessment of the Candidates’ Domestic Agendas and their Fiscal Implications” on June 23.
  • NCPA President John C. Goodman told the Senate Special Committee on Aging on May 19 that Health Savings Accounts (HSAs) will lower costs and improve access to quality healthcare. http://www.ncpa.org/prs/tst/20040519djg.htm
  • On April 22, the NCPA sponsored a Capitol Hill briefing, "Global Warming: What Do We Really Know vs. What We Are Told."   • The NCPA sponsored a Capitol Hill briefing on consumer-driven healthcare, "Is Consumer-Driven Health Care Reshaping the Health Care System?" - on April 21.   • Bartlett led an NCPA Capitol Hill briefing on labor and employment policy, "Myths and Realities of Outsourcing," on April 2. Catherine Mann of the Institute for International Economics and Russell Roberts of the Hoover Institution and George Mason University also spoke.
