  • NCPA Senior Fellow William Conerly spoke to several groups during December about economic recovery, including Banner Bank in Yakima (WA) and members of the Building Owners and Managers Association in Portland (OR).

  • NCPA President John C. Goodman discussed consumer-driven healthcare and the impact of Health Savings Accounts at Destiny Health’s Intellectual Leadership Series in Chicago on December 11.

  • Goodman spoke to an assembly of state senators and legislators about consumer-driven healthcare and the impact of the Medicare reform bill at the Minnesota State Capitol in St. Paul on December 10 sponsored by the Minnesota Taxpayer’s League Foundation.

  • Goodman discussed consumer-driven healthcare with top-level executives of Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield in Indianapolis on November 19.

  • Goodman debated Social Security at the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans Conference in San Diego on November 10.

  • Goodman told the Healthy Florida Foundation on November 7 that consumer-driven health plans will dominate the health insurance market within the next 5 years.

  • NCPA Senior Economist Barry Asmus spoke about the effect of global events on the U.S. economy in Chicago, Pebble Beach (CA), Boston, Lansing (MI), Houston, Scottsdale (AZ) and Tampa. Asmus spoke about his book, “The Best Is Yet to Come,” in Minneapolis, Syracuse, Marquette (MI), Starksville (MS), Phoenix, Palm Springs and Las Vegas.
