NCPA Senior Policy Analyst Matt Moore told a Town Hall Meeting sponsored by Rep. Pete Sessions (R-TX) on September 20 that personal retirement accounts will ease the financial crisis in Social Security.
NCPA Senior Fellow H. Sterling Burnett spoke about “What’s Wrong with Ocean Fisheries” at the SuperConference Program University at the University of North Texas on September 20.
NCPA President John C. Goodman joined Health and Human Services Secretary Tommy Thompson and former House Speaker Newt Gingrich in addressing the Iowa Association of Health Underwriters about consumer-driven health insurance – “Reforming the Health Care System” – on September 18.
Goodman also spoke on health economics at the Southwestern Medical School in Dallas on September 9.
NCPA Senior Fellow and Social Security and Medicare trustee Thomas Saving presented the financial outlook for Social Security and Medicare entitlement programs at the American Medical Association meeting in Chicago on September 5.
NCPA Senior Economist Barry Asmus spoke about the effect of global events on the U.S. economy in several cities, including Kansas City, Jacksonville (FL), Scottsdale (AZ), Atlanta, Jackson Hole (WY) and Toronto. Asmus spoke about his book, “The Best Is Yet to Come,” in Kohler (WI), Nashville, New York City, Chicago, Palm Beach (FL) and Mackinac Island (MI).
Moore spoke to the Oxford Club of Dallas on August 11 about the investment aspects of Social Security.
Moore also participated in a panel discussion about Choice in Education at the 2003 convention of the Texas Republican Liberty Caucus on August 2.
On July 9, NCPA Senior Fellow Celeste Colgan spoke about retirement policies affecting women at the Women’s Policy Forum in Fort Worth.
