On June 20, NCPA President John C. Goodman spoke at a Cato Institution briefing on Capitol Hill with Sen. Don Nickles (R-OK), Senior Health Economist for Congress' Joint Economic Committee Michael O'Grady, and Tom Miller, director of Health Policy Studies at the Cato Institute. The four discussed Medicare reform and prescription drug benefits.
NCPA Senior Fellow Bruce Bartlett spoke to members of the House Conservative Opportunity Society about Republican ascendancy in Congress and other political trends.
The House Republican Study Committee distributed NCPA Senior Fellow and Social Security and Medicare Trustee Thomas Saving's research on the financial outlook for Medicare to educate Congressional leaders about reform and the potential liability to taxpayers.

Tom Saving spoke to the House Blue Dog Democrats on June 10 on the unfunded debt of Social Security and Medicare.
On May 21, John Goodman and NCPA Senior Fellow Andrew Rettenmaier conducted a briefing on the NCPA publication "Climbing the Economic Ladder" at the Financial Services Roundtable luncheon in the Capitol.
On April 29, the NCPA sponsored a breakfast briefing on Capitol Hill, "How to Protect Medicare for Future Generations." Administrator of the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Tom Scully, Progressive Policy Institute economist Jeff Lemieux and the NCPA's John C. Goodman discussed strategies for reforming Medicare.
