  • On July 9, NCPA Senior Fellow Celeste Colgan spoke about retirement policies affecting women at the Women's Policy Forum in Fort Worth.

  • NCPA Senior Fellow William Conerly addressed the Oklahoma Council of Public Affairs' Summer Speaker Series on June 25 on "Freedom and Prosperity: The Case for Optimism."

  • On June 24, President and CEO of the National Black Chamber of Commerce Harry C. Alford and NCPA President John C. Goodman spoke at a Manhattan Institute luncheon forum on "Reform of Social Security: What's at Stake for Minorities?"

  • Conerly told a Banner Bank briefing in Portland, OR on June 11 that the economy should grow during the second half of the year.

  • NCPA Senior Economist Barry Asmus spoke about the effect of global events on the U.S. economy in Huntington Beach, CA, Chicago and Las Vegas in May, in Huntington Beach (CA) and Austin (TX) in June, and in Kansas City during the month of July.

  • Asmus spoke about his book, "The Best Is Yet to Come," in Prescott, AZ, San Diego, Houston, New York and Naples, FL in May, in Scottsdale, AZ, San Antonio, TX and New Brunswick, NJ in June, and in Kohler, WI and Nashville in July.

  • On May 19, NCPA Senior Fellow Celeste Colgan was featured speaker at the Laramie County (WY) Republican Women's Club.

  • At the Conservative Policy Conference in Seattle, May 9, NCPA Senior Fellow William Conerly presented some of his research on unemployment insurance, including "Is Workers' Compensation a Model for Unemployment Insurance?" "Is Extending Unemployment Benefits a Good Idea?" and "Chile Leads the Way With Unemployment Accounts."

  • On May 6, NCPA President John C. Goodman discussed insurance regulation and cost containment at the National Association of Insurance Commissioners/Reform States Group Conference with the Milbank Memorial Fund in Chicago.

  • On May 1, NCPA National Policy Chairman Pete du Pont was keynote speaker at an all-day Bloomberg Financial News Service business seminar in Dallas.

  • On April 23, NCPA Senior Fellow H. Sterling Burnett discussed Texas prisons and capital punishment at the Turtle Creek Breakfast Club meeting in Dallas.

  • On April 21, Burnett also addressed students at the Greenhill School in Dallas about energy and the war in Iraq.
