On May 19, former Secretary of State Lawrence Eagleburger was the featured speaker at the NCPA Sumners Distinguished Lecture Series at the Wyndham Anatole Hotel in Dallas. He spoke on foreign policy, nonproliferation and the reconstruction of Iraq.
On May 14, Dr. Hans Mark, former director of defense research and engineering at the Department of Defense, was the featured speaker at an NCPA Chairman's Club lunch in Dallas.
On May 8, the NCPA co-sponsored an education forum, "School Choice in Texas: Could Choice Help Children Trapped in Failing Schools?" with the Manhattan Institute in Dallas. The keynote speaker was Governor Bill Owens (R-CO).
On May 1, NCPA Policy Chairman Gov. Pete du Pont met with NCPA Chairman's Club members to discuss public policy and the state of the economy.
