• John Goodman was elected chair of the Health Economics Roundtable of the National Association of Business Economics. The NABE is an association for business professionals sharing innovative economic data and sound business decision advice.

• NCPA Senior Fellow Celeste Colgan was appointed to the prestigious James Madison Book Award Advisory Council. The award recognizes excellence in bringing knowledge and understanding of American history to children ages 5 through 14, and bestows $10,000 to the winner. The ceremony took place July 1 at the National Air and Space Museum.

• NCPA Research Manager Devon Herrick recently completed his Ph.D. in political economy with a concentration in economic development at the University of Texas at Dallas. Dr. Herrick's dissertation research concerned the topic "Patient Empowerment and the Internet."
